Originally planned and announced via Kickstarter in 2016 by Pebble Technology the Pebble Time 2 offered a larger 1.5 64-color e-paper display resolution 200 × 228 202 ppi a heart rate monitor and a stainless steel body but was ultimately canceled when Fitbit acquired Pebble .Fast-forward to 2025 Pebble’s founder Eric Migicovsky formed Core Devices and regained the Pebble trademark rebranding the device as the Pebble Time 2 preserving its legacy

Final Design & Features 2025 Reveal

According to the latest from The Verge and TechCrunch here’s how the Pebble Time 2 has evolved Weight 48 g with strap 32.5 g without Build Sleek rounded stainless steel front and back with knurled stainless steel buttons reminiscent of the Pebble Time Steel

Second microphone (for noise cancellation)

Compass sensor

Screw-mounted back cover

Slimmer bezel and flatter glass lens for reduced glare

Significantly Larger & Sharper Display

  • Pebble Time featured a 1.25 color e-paper display at 144 × 168 resolution.
  • Pebble Time 2 elevates this to a 1.5 display with 200 × 228 resolution about 50% larger and 80% more pixels enabling more readable text and a fuller screen experience.

Extended Battery Life

  • The original offered up to 7 days of use.
  • Time 2 targets up to 10 days adding endurance without sacrificing the always-on e-paper benefits.

Premium Durable Build

Pebble Time featured a plastic body with optional steel options available in the Time Steel. In contrast Pebble Time 2 adopts a full 316-grade stainless steel chassis including buttons which gives it robust aesthetics reminiscent of the Time Steel.

Sleeker Design with Improved Usability

Time 2 ships with slimmer bezels flatter glass to reduce glare and a more refined rounded profile offering modern comfort and visibility.Android Authority

  • E-Paper Display: Pebble was famous for its e-paper display which offered excellent visibility even in direct sunlight while consuming very little power. Notably the Time 2 built on this strength by featuring a color e-paper display thereby enhancing the overall user experience.
  • Improved Design: The Pebble Time 2 featured a stainless-steel design, offering a more premium feel compared to the original Pebble Time. They designed it to be both stylish and durable.
  • Heart Rate Monitoring: One of the key upgrades was the inclusion of a heart rate sensor. Consequently it allowed users to track their fitness levels and monitor their pulse.
  • Water Resistance: Like previous Pebble models the Time 2 was water-resistant. Therefore it was suitable for swimming and other water-based activities.
  • Long Battery Life: Pebble promised up to 10 days of battery life on a single charge. Consequently it offered a significant advantage over many other smartwatches on the market.
